I'm in love!
Yesterday I travelled to Calgary for my Nuchal Translucency ultrasound. This ultrasound can pick up most fetal abnormalities between 11 and 14 weeks gestation, as well as assess risk for the various Trisomies.
Baby A was pretty active and the technician was able to identify all of her/his major body parts. Everything looked good and the perinatologist said that all appeared normal. He also said that no additional screening would be necessary based on the results. J and I are very relieved. We were a little worried as IVF/ICSI babies carry additional risk for fetal abnormalities.
And now for the cute part. J couldn't come with me due to work commitments, so my dad came along. He turned into complete mush as soon as baby appeared on the screen. It was pretty neat sharing the experience with him. And for the first time, I finally believed I was pregnant. I was so emotional last night. I cried tears of joy with J. We are so in love with this baby!
